CONFEDERATION LINE EXTENSION - LMSF (PHASE 1)
DIAMOND SCHMITT ARCHITECTS / NEW CONSTRUCTION / 9,500SM / OTTAWA, CANADA / 2021
Confederation Line Phase 1 is an extension to the existing Ottawa Confederation Line. The project consists of the design and construction of 16 Stations. At the western extent of the expansion, beyond the Moodie Interchange, a new Light Maintenance and Storage Facility (LMSF) will be constructed on a long, narrow site sandwiched between Highway 417 and Wesley Clover Park. This facility augments the major maintenance and storage facility built at Belfast Yards. This facility will be developed in three phases and eventually serve a further westward extension of the Confederation Line towards Kanata.
In the first phase of development, the site will house a single Service and Inspection Building that allows light vehicle maintenance, a storage shed for 24 vehicles, and an office building for the OC Transpo staff that operate the vehicles.
